The problem

The company BRM (Building & Roof Management) is located in a beautiful old industrial building in Herzele. When furnishing the business, a lot of attention was clearly paid to aesthetics and details. Unfortunately, the acoustics in this building left much to be desired. The striking windows created a beautiful setting, but also caused reverberation and thus hindered the audibility of the employees, whose desks were placed against the windows. COUST acoustics came to the rescue.

Our solution

To get started, we placed some desk screens (COUSTdeskscreen) on the desks. Here we had to take into account the equipment already in place, as well as the mounting arms used to attach the computer screens to the desks. To further reduce the reverberation time of 1.2 seconds to a pleasant reverberation time of 0.8 seconds, we placed some nice wall panels (COUSTpanels) with prints carefully chosen by the client. It was not easy to find prints that were sharp enough and connected to the company, but we made an extra effort and achieved a very nice result. For example, an image of the old factory could be used, and we also did some photoshop work for the adaptation of a logo.

Result

The praise we heard from the client after the project led us to later allow us to tackle the upper floor acoustically as well. There the client again chose to have us install some beautiful wall panels (COUSTpanels). The BRM offices now look and sound perfect!
