The problem

The problem

On the Halveweg in Zonhoven you will find the funeral home of Johan Schraepen. During our visit in March 2019, Johan tells us that they suffer from reverberation in the large room where the coffee tables are held. This room, which can accommodate more than 100 people, is very functional and soberly decorated. Therefore, when family and friends gather there to chat afterward, the reverberation present is a disturbing factor. Time for COUST's targeted approach.

Our solution

Our solution

In the room, sound appears to reverberate for as much as 1.7 seconds. This is a lot, and we decide to reduce it to 1 second. Slightly higher than the norm (0.8 seconds), but still with the assurance of a serious improvement. With our acoustic materials, we will need 19 m² of absorption area for this. For this we will work out a wall-filling solution in one piece, so that the large dimensions of the room will be even more attractive.

Given the low ceiling and the decoration already installed on some walls, we suggest applying a 12.5-meter-long custom wall covering (COUSTwall) to the large, clear wall. TO avoid creating a large white surface and to reinforce the company's name at the same time, we incorporate the business's logo into the wall covering.
