At Kortrijk's Groeninge General Hospital, it seems that everything has been thought through. In the beautiful new building, state-of-the-art technology has been integrated to create a pleasant environment for both patients and staff. Only the acoustics had apparently been overlooked... The beautiful cabinets looked very neat, but suffered from a very unpleasant and chilly sound.
After a thorough market analysis, the facility manager decided to have 2 companies, including COUST acoustics, each address a cabinet acoustically. COUST's acoustic solutions came out on top (again), both in terms of acoustic performance and finish. We were therefore rightly assigned the entire project of some 45 cabinets. A real project that turned out to be a tour de force, especially in terms of planning. The fact that our company could also be flexible in terms of planning and could manage the entire project was highly appreciated by the hospital.
A busy hospital and doctors with full schedules... Just try to find room in there to perform the placements in the cabinets. A real puzzle! We also had to communicate accurately with the hospital's own technical department about disconnecting the smoke detectors so that they could be reconnected as quickly as possible afterward.
According to the dimensions of each cabinet, we installed 1 ceiling panel each (COUSTceiling) with sometimes a conduit for electricity. In about 11 working days, all ceiling panels were installed! Because of the many positive comments about the rooms already treated, the assignment was later expanded to include additional rooms. But COVID threw a spanner in the works for several months ... By September 2020, however, almost all the additional rooms will have been dealt with, and we will be able to complete this beautiful project, which both we and our client are very proud of!
