The problem
In the offices of the beautiful new building of notaries Willem and Hendrik Muyshondt in Halle, there was a huge reverberation. This was obviously very disturbing during meetings and during the reading of deeds. The rooms themselves were still soberly decorated at the time. We were therefore contacted with the request for an acoustic solution that could also provide aesthetic added value to the office.
Our solution
In the two meeting rooms, we solved the reverberation problem by means of two impressive COUSTpanels (wall panels) with prints: one of 400 x 200 cm and one of 300 x 200 cm. Here the customer deliberately chose photos from their own region, namely the Hallerbos, where the blue-purple hyacinths bloom luxuriantly every spring. To be sure of their choice, we made simulations of the photos for our customer. This made it easy to assess the effect of the size of the panels on the space.
In the landscape office, a solution had to be found for the disturbing sound transmission between the different desk islands. For this, we placed desk screens (COUSTdeskscreens) on the cabinets around the aisle, both with absorption on one side and double-sided absorption (depending on the need).
Result
Two years later, we returned once again to this notary office. After all, two office spaces in the adjacent office building also needed acoustic optimization. Through a professional reverberation measurement, we were able to determine reverberation times of 1.2 and 1.5 seconds. We reduced these to the pleasant reverberation time of 0.8 seconds by means of a COUSTwall and a COUSTpanel, both with print. Once again, the client chose some photos from the region, this time taken by a local photographer.
The wall panels with razor-sharp prints of the Hallerbos have become the absolute eye-catchers of the office. Visitors are now welcomed in a serene and discreet atmosphere, which is also noticed by them. We have already been able to help many clients who were referred to us via the Notary office Muyshondt. A satisfied client is the best advertisement.
