The problem
In 25 years, the IT company The Reference truly grew to become the reference in its sector. Under the professional leadership of CEO Anja Capelle, this company evolved at record speed into a full service agency with more than 150 employees. After a successful test in 2015, COUST was called in several times to improve the acoustics in the offices and meeting rooms.
Our solution
The first project in 2015 was two meeting rooms where conference calls needed to be held in peace and quiet. Because of the use of technical equipment there, we had to aim for a lower reverberation value of 0.6 s. The first meeting room was decorated with a wall-sized COUSTwall with a beautiful view of Ghent. Switches and outlets were neatly incorporated into it. In the second meeting room we placed two acoustic panels (COUSTpanel), one with print and one with plain fabric to be used as a beamer wall. We also placed an acoustic ceiling (COUSTceiling), which because of the unevenness of the ceiling and the many techniques present on it, was suspended by cables.
Result
A mobile acoustic screen (COUSTsceen) on wheels provided the icing on the cake: the iPhone-style version quickly made this screen the darling of the office. It is now being rolled from office to office. The Reference was very pleased with the acoustic and aesthetic effect of our products. Not surprisingly, they contacted us several times afterward to address additional spaces acoustically.
